Four themes were developed for the kids' content: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Secure and Be Curious. To help capture the attention of our young users, the decision was made to go with a set of illustrated characters, each with its online superpower to sit alongside the selected themes.
A simple outlined style was selected to help define the shapes as mobile phones, and by keeping the style simple, we could put the focus on what the illustrations were doing and what was happening around them. That way, for the youngest users who are still learning to read, the images will fill in the gaps of what we are trying to convey.
